BIG NINE OUTFITTERS SUGGESTED HUNTING GEAR

For a 10 - 15 Day Hunt

(Please restrict your weight to 75 lbs)

High quality sleeping bag with one inch foam or air mattress
(supplied, if to much trouble)

1 rifle - 270 to 338 range recommended
40 rounds of ammunition
1 rifle saddle scabbard, leather or vinyl (If you cannot find one we have a few up at our main camp that you may borrow.)
1 full set of rain gear
1 heavy coat
1 light jacket and vest
3 pairs of pants
4 shirts
3 suits of warm underwear
6 pairs of socks
2 pairs of gloves
2 pairs of leather boots with vibrim type soles
1 pair of camp slippers (outdoor boots are not allowed in the cookhouses due to local soil type)
1 sweater
1 cap with ear-flaps
1 canteen

For a 7 Day Meat Hunt in August

1 sleeping bag (supplied, if to much trouble)
1 rifle (270 to 338 range recommended)
40 rounds of ammunition

2 pairs of pants
3 shirts
1 suit of warm underwear
6 pairs of socks
2 pairs of gloves
2 pairs leather boots with vibrim type soles

1 cap with ear flaps
1 canteen

We recommend for all hunts that at least one full set of outer clothing be made of a woolen or quiet type material as these will greatly increase your chances for a successful hunt. Camo is recommended.

Every major camp comes equipped with shower facilities and washing machines for your own use and convenience.

* Large duffel bags are very hard to pack on horses, so please pack two small bags in place of one large bag. Maximum size of 36” x 18” please.
